Nick S. Aguilar, MD brings more than 20 years of family practice experience to Aguilar Family Health Care. He is a graduate of Central Catholic High School and obtained his undergraduate degree from St. Mary’s University followed by his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

After medical school, Dr. Aguilar completed his residency in South Texas at the McAllen Family Practice Residency Program. He spent five years in the National Health Service Corp serving rural communities such as Tonopah, NV, Raymondville, TX and Harlingen, TX. He then spent five years serving San Antonio’s community through a local medical group.

Dr. Aguilar is board certified through the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the Texas Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

In his free time, Dr. Aguilar enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, watching movies and fishing.

 

Kim Saucedo is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society.  She received both her Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.  She has been a Family Nurse Practitioner for the last 6 years, and a Registered Nurse for the last 17 years.

She began her career in the medical field at an early age, volunteering at University Hospital. She is a graduate of Health Careers High School. Her undergraduate studies were done at Palo Alto College and the University of Texas at San Antonio. 

Her nursing experience has been in medical-surgical, cardiac and trauma. She is proud to have cared for wounded warriors while she worked at SAMMC.

In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband and four children.  Her weekends are spent cheering on her son at football games and watching her favorite cheerleader perform.

 

Carlos J. Mendez Jr, PA-C, is originally from La Vernia, Texas. After graduating high school Carlos joined the Army and proudly served 7 years. His time in the military included a tour to Iraq in 2003 with the 4th Infantry Divison out of Fort Hood, Texas.

In 2010 Carlos graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center with a masters in Physician Assistant Studies. Upon Graduating he practiced family medicine in Seguin, with a primary in geriatrics and then became part of The Aguilar Family Health Care team in September 2015.

He is certified by the Texas Medical Board, and the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He is also currently a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.

In his free time Carlos enjoys spending time with his family, watching sports and reading.

 

 

 

Maegan has lived in South Texas her whole life, growing up in Kenedy. She now calls San Antonio her home. Maegan graduated from Texas A&M – Corpus Christi in 2007. She worked as an ICU nurse at Doctors Hospital in Laredo, TX before graduating with her Master’s degree from Texas A&M International University in 2013. After graduation, she relocated to San Antonio and joined Aguilar Family Health Care in May, 2015.

She has a background in acute care, but her passion for prevention brought her to family practice. She enjoys discussing with patients ways to prevent chronic illnesses and improve quality of life. When she is not working, Maegan enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, participating in church and cheering on the Spurs.
